Happy New Year!!! 01/01/2011

This is a Great day to start fresh and new. Last night Stuart and I had a wonderful new years eve. We had dinner with Reggie & Sarah Hicks at Pappa Bro. Steakhouse and it was amazing. From crab cakes to lobser bisque to the mouth watering filet. It was glorious. Then all four of us went to Ruben Garcias house to play wii dance. OMG that was so fun and an amazing workout. We definitely have to go buy that. At midnight we toasted moscato (my favorite) bubbly champagne had a midnight kiss and off to our casa we went. Madison spent the weekend in Canton with her a Mimi and Paps and we are on our way to canton as we speak to spend the day with of all of them. This morning Stuart and I slept in till about 9:30, I think that was the latest I have slept in since Madison was born. It was lovely. I took part in my own organization this morning... Cleaning out Madisons shoes and clothes. She has soooooo much but I have boxes them up and in the attic they go. After we got dressed we headed to the most amazing breaskfadt/lunch place in the world... Mamas Daughters Diner. I had grilled chicken and diet Coke... Yumm. Well heres to an awesome 2011...I an so blessed and am so thankful to God for all the many blessings.

Xoxo

Madison Leigh - 8 Months

I can't believe our baby girl is already 8 months old!

So what have you been up too?

You weigh about 21 lbs

You are 28 inches long

You are trying to walk everywhere...you even have your  shoes that squeak, so you can hear yourself walk

You have two top teeth and they make you look so grown up :(

You are in size 3 diapers still

Love your new cheetos or I like to call them corn curls

You have done photo shoots for Belk and JC Penny

Your eyes have stayed bright blue

You LOVE to play peak a boo

You clap when we say yay or sing "If your happy and you know it"

You have realized that when you look in the mirror you are looking at YOU! and you cheese big time!

You say know how to wave hello, and bye bye

You love the song "if your happy and you know it" and you have a bear that sings Jesus Loves Me and you are mesmerized by it

You still do not sleep through the night, but that is okay.

You sleep in your bed for the most part of the night and then daddy goes and gets you and brings you to sleep in our bed.

You are growing so fast, and I do not like it! Before to long you will be starting kindergarden, oh that reminds me, you will be starting a new school soon and mommy and daddy are so excited! IT might put us in debt but thats okay! Anything for our baby girl!

We love you MADDIE LEIGH with all our hearts!

Valentine's Day and a Car

I can't believe it is February already and much less its already 2010. I would like to know what the girls think about Valentine's day? I haven't always been one that thought much about it, I thought it was neat to get flowers or have a good dinner but never thought of it as a "romantic day" maybe that is because I am not very romantic haha! but this year for some reason my perspective changed, and I think it is because we now have a little one crawling and trying to walk all over the house and Stu and I really do not get any time to ourselves, maybe now I realize why Valentines Day was created....to give parents one night to themselves :) I LOVE that idea. About 3 weeks ago I asked my mom (mimi) to babysit Maddie for the weekend so Stu could plan something awesome for us to do the entire weekend...of course she said YES! (Side note: I am so lucky to have a mom that will drop anything to watch Maddie) so then I had been asking Stu like every day, what are you planning, what are we going to do, huh? huh? do you want me to plan it? do you want me to plan the whole week? and he would just look at me and say "why are we getting all into Valentines Day" and up until today I really never had an answer, but oh I do now....its called being romantic for a weekend hahahaha! That sounds so funny to me, but yes, that is what it is about. Maybe it shold be called Love Day....show your signigicant other how much you LOVE them......ok ok ok....maybe I am getting carried away. So really why I wrote this was to say, I think my valentines weekend will consist of this, and I will tell you why at the end....

Friday...mimi arrives, we go to Dinner with Maddie and Mimi
Saturday...Taylor(2 year old cousin) birthday party
Saturday night..HOPEFULLY dinner either just Stu and I or with friends
Sunday...well hopefully a card

HAHAHAH! that sounds so pathetic, but the reason why is because, my husband just bought me a new BMW 5 series.....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its not only my Valentines present, but my birthday, Christmas etc for the next like 5 years! I was driving a Tahoe, and I loved the idea of having a bigger car because the Lexus I250 I had when we had Maddie was to small, I couldn't get her carseat in the back....so Tahoe sounded great, well yeah had it for 2 minutes and hated it! So he let me get a new car! THANKS to the BEST husband ever!!!!

Okay so here are some photos of Miss Maddie to end my post with....she is getting way to big!

Miss America Week

So if you know anything about me at all, you probably know that I have done beauty pageants pretty much my entire life. I grew up watching Miss America dreaming of one day walking the runway while hearing Bert Parks singing "There She is Miss America...." (Every little girl can dream ,right?) Well I never won the opportunity to go to Miss America but oh boy did I come close. In 2006 I was 3rd runner up and well Shilah (who was Miss Texas) and was 1st runner up to Miss America, if she would have won Miss America I would have become Miss Texas....how amazing would that have been? Well as I sit here now as a 26 year old, mother and wife I realize life isn't always about pageants, but I can tell you being in pageants sure has taught me alot about life, even about being a mother and a wife.
I now have a little girl who is on her way to being Miss America (or so I hope) she has won her first pageant, but who knows she might turn 5 and realize she wants to play soccer. (LORD HELP US)
I miss the days when Miss America was an icon, someone you saw dressed in a business suit, with hair and make up perfect, spoke extrememly eloquent and she represented that Goodness of America, I'm not saying Miss America isn't the best now,  but when you wear a dress that you would wear to a holiday party into interivew, no longer really having a platform that YOU promote, cutting talent to 90 seconds, and usually the swimsuit winner is the SKINNEST girl there not the girl that is the most fit. Man oh Man how times have changed. I wonder what it will be like when Madison is old enough to compete, or will Miss America even be around????
I will leave you with some photos of when I competed :) I sure miss it, but I wouldnt take what I have now away for anything in the world!!!!!!!!

PS MIss America is this SATURDAY! GO TEXAS GO!!!!!!!!!!!

First Professional PAID photo shoot

So I can't remember a time when I got paid to actually pose for a photo, but low and behold at 6 1/2 months little Maddie is paid $75 an hour to pose for Belk's easter advertisement. We are elated for her, so today was the day (I wish I had photos) but I will make sure I take some later. We arrived around 9:40 and saw about 9 other babies ranging from 6 months to 3 years. They took Maddie and I back to the dressing room, asked us to put on a little outfit from Belk and then they wisked her away. WHOA wait, you mean I don't get to go in there with her? Who is going to make her smile, who is going to be there if she cries???? I was scared to death. Then about 2 minutes into it I hear them cracking up laughing, so I guess she was fine. She stayed with them for about 30 minutes and they came out saying what an awesome job she did! I was elated for her!!! I can't wait to take a photo of her with her first pay check! HOW COOL!!!!! Well here is a photo before we left this morning! I love this little girl!! She is such a ham!

She has on her toddler hat because her other hats mess up her hair haha!
